On-site interpreting offers a dependable and exact face-to-face interpretation experience. Having a professional on-site interpreter provides clients with the advantage of not only hearing but also seeing their interpreter, which leads to a more accurate understanding of the material. A qualified interpreter who is physically on site can make you feel calmer and more secure during a stressful situation when interpretation is most needed. Most on-site interpretations provided by TNOLA Languages are in the legal, medical, and education fields. These on-site interpretations can include:
- All Types of Legal Proceedings
- Depositions
- Client Prep & Interviews
- Physical Therapy
- Medical Appointments
- Mental Health Visits
- Parent Teacher Conferences
- Disciplinary Hearings
- School Events
There are two main types of on-site interpreting: consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting. Consecutive interpreting is the process in which the interpreter takes turns listening and speaking with the source language speaker. Notes are taken while the source language speaker is talking, and once they are finished the interpreter conveys the message to the client. Simultaneous interpreting is when the source language speaker continues to speak while the interpreter relays the message at the same time to the client. Because our range of clientele and subject matter is so diverse, we pair each client with an on-site interpreter that is skilled and knowledgeable in each particular subject matter.
